Dark Lips, Pale Face, Breathin' in Sun Rays?

Fashion is all about standing out and putting yourself out there to show off who you are. There are multiple trends today on social media, like Pinterest, which we so desperately want to try out, but are too afraid to do so. Two of which, I got the nerve to give a shot and I LOVE the result. My look today combines a dark lip with the ever so famous half bun.

A dark lip can be quite the statement, so a hasty tip about them is to never pair dramatic eye make up with a statement lip (unless it's an evening event). It draws way too much attention to many different areas of your face instead of enhancing your beauty, which tends to look like you are wearing too much make up. So today, my makeup is just my normal face routine of foundation and concealer, a light pink blush. My eyes have on just mascara and on my lips is Kat Von D's lipstick in the shade called Vampira.

The half up/ half down top knot I am strutting is a hairstyle which I have seen countless times in magazines and on the runway, but I have been way too frightened to try it. Today, I sort said "what do I have to loose" and tried it out. I am filled with excitement with how it looks. Once again, it is an "uncommon hairstyle", so you don't want to wear clothes of extravagant fashion.

As you can spot, I paired some loose fit navy shorts with a regular long sleeve red and navy striped shirt. Also, I paired nude patent leather flats and a simple gold necklace.
This outfit pulls together nicely because I put a simple outfit with two bold trends!

Like I said before, trends can be quite scary to give a shot, but you have nothing to loose! So try out those trends and do not be afraid of looking different from everyone else. Remember, fashion is not always what everyone is used to seeing.

I hope this article helped you out and pushes you to go outside the box with trends you have a burning desire to try out.

Until next time,

XOXO

A "Light Roast" of France

"If you're going to be sad, might as well be sad in Paris." ~ Blair Waldorf

Although Miss Blair may speak beautifully this sentence, it was all smiles and no tears this morning when I had my little taste of France. No, I did not have the privilege to visit France (I wish), but I did experience the next best thing....

French Pressed Coffee
My pal, Kelsey, persuaded me into trying this revolutionary kind of coffee and it might have been the best thing to happen to me (in the terms of coffee drinkers).

To all you coffee enthusiasts out there, its amazing and you must try it. (IM BEGGING YOU, TRY IT)

Kels and I had a the quaintest little date so here are some pics:

Check back tomorrow for a surprise post!!

OOTD & Goin' to a Coffee Shop

Today's outfit was a quick one to throw on and head out the door to go meet a friend at Starbucks for coffee. I cannot explain how much I adore outfits you can quickly put on, they are comfortable, and well put together.
Here is where the pieces are from:

Shirt: Daisy Pearl (a small boutique)
Shorts: Nordstroms ( I think)
Shoes: Jack Rogers

& both of my necklaces were gifts!

If you want see my post about my coffee date at Starbucks click here!!

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week and do not forget to share this post with your friends.

OOTD: A Day Around Town

Today I had so much to do and I had to wake up early to accomplish it. Early mornings call for coffee runs and (of course) comfortable clothes. However, the trick to comfortable clothes is to style an outfit which still is sophisticated while straying from discomfort. (No one wants to wake up exceedingly early just to put on an uncomfortable pair of pants).

The key to it is BASICS. Everyone needs those "go to" shirts in their closet which file under the 3 C's. Comfortable. Conformable. Cute. The shirt which can be worn with multiple accessories and can conform into casual or even slightly dressy.

Down below is the perfect shirt for the job! This is one of my FAVORITE outfits so far.

Shirt: J Crew
Shorts: Express
Shoes: Target
Purse: Kate Spade (is there anything better??)
Necklace: Gift

I am thrilled to see the sun peaking through the clouds today, I hope it stays!

Macaron Madness!!

We all know the common question, "what is your favorite food?". Well, it's time y'all find out mine. MACARONS!!!! I am mildly obsessed. Just kidding. I am MADLY obsessed. One could say I have macaron madness.

For the past week I have had the biggest craving for some and me and my friend Brooke decided to go get some.

We found a little place in San Antonio, Texas called Délice Chocolatier & Patisserie. It is a quaint, French bakery and they had a wide variety of them.

Although it was a difficult decision, Brooke and I picked out four flavors each. They were: Dark Chocolate Raspberry, Pistachio, Cinnamon Dulce de Leche, and Strawberry.

Apart, they were $1.95 but for a box of four it was $7. So all-together we got two boxes of four and a chocolate cake pop to share which was $3.

They were all so yummy and I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area to go there and try their macarons. Not only do they have cake pops and macarons, but shelves decorated with other pastries and sweets!

I will definitely be returning!!
